A Standing Haiku for a Standing Kind of Day
For evil to win,
The good need only to sit,
For evil is rare.
And they, looking on,
Say what and why shall we fight
The smallest of cares?
But the few it hurts,
Stand up quick from sudden pain,
Look back on soft chairs.
They try to explain
To all the comfortable crowds
That they, if they care
Can fight evil off
With the simplest of measures:
A message — one share,
A hand extended,
A voice of understanding,
A STAND, if they dare.
